'Roy Smeck Stage Deluxe'

C.1936, 12 fret jumbo, sunburst spruce top & choc brown mahogany back/sides/neck, white 'Gibson' logo & model name in phd, 16" body, converted from hawaiian setup (all 'Smecks' were), neck has been slimmed down & original Brazilian rosewood fbd fretted, new nut & bridge with compensated saddle, one side & two top holes have been filled (undoubtedly from jack plug, tone & volume controls added by vandals years back) otherwise no cracks/repairs etc, touch up only to the aforementioned works otherwise all original finish, this was an export model made for '30s UK Gibson agents, Francis, Day & Hunter, and comes complete with original, British made, fitted hard case, a rare and cool prewar Gibbo with enormous sound and favourite guitar of Jackson Browne & Ry Cooder, OHC, VGC

GC (Good Condition) = generally sound, possibly some repairs/refinish, may need work as noted, moderate to heavy playwear

PC (Poor Condition) =  Issues and work required as noted

C.1953, same 16" body as L-50 guitar, f-holes, carved spruce top, maple b/s, mahogany neck, Brazilian rosewood fbd & bridge, sunburst top, tobacco brown b/s/neck, this is a player's grade instrument that had been converted to an 8 string (with mandolin tuners !) but has now been restored to it's former 4 string glory, phd holes have been filled with new phd front veneer & 'Gibson' logo, correct period Kluson Deluxe tuners & new nut, original trapeze tpce retained although has extra slots cut for 8 strings and lower part has nickel plating removed, top has some touch up over heavy pickwear but no cracks, back is almost unmarked, 1 small repaired crack in treble side near tpce, missing pgd, most importantly this TG sounds & plays great, HC, VGC
